Growth Communications Firm Welcomes University of Texas Senior Sonali Muthukrishnan to Internship Program
LIMELIGHT is pleased to announce that University of Texas, Austin, senior Sonali Muthukrishnan has joined the agency as an intern. Muthukrishnan is a Government and Race, Indigeneity, and Migration senior pursuing a Bridging Disciplines Certificate in Ethics and Leadership in Business.
During the spring 2025 semester, Muthukrishnan interned for Congresswoman Sara Jacobs’ Office in Washington, D.C., while attending the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs. She also previously interned for the ACLU of Texas and the Rapoport Center for Human Rights at the University of Texas Law School.
As she begins her time at LIMELIGHT, Muthukrishnan is eager to expand her understanding of the intersections between law, business, and technology, areas that mirror both her academic focus and professional interests. In the conversation below, she shares more about what drew her to LIMELIGHT, the experiences that shaped her path, and what she’s most excited to learn during her internship.
What drew you to LIMELIGHT and the work that we do?
I have always been passionate about the law and its intersection with business. After spending a semester in D.C. my junior year, I knew I wanted to delve deeper into business and law and explore what different kinds of work these industries look like. I am also originally from Silicon Valley, so I grew up understanding the importance of technology and its connection to business and law. LIMELIGHT does the work to support firms that are at the intersections of all of these industries and I wanted to get involved because of that.
What experiences most helped you prepare for your role at LIMELIGHT?
My experience writing for the Daily Texan honed my writing skills, preparing me for a communications related internship like this one. My prior internships I have had throughout college, studying in the legal field, and my time doing communications work for the ACLU and Congresswoman Sara Jacobs’ Office have let me jump right into my role at LIMELIGHT.
Why are you passionate about your role at LIMELIGHT?
I love getting to learn new things and the best way to do that is from people who have experience in the fields you want to learn in. The team at LIMELIGHT is so knowledgeable and that makes my internship so exciting because I get to learn from their wisdom.
When you get a moment away from work and school, what is your favorite thing to do?
When I get the time I love to go on runs, there is truly nothing better to do! But with the heat in Texas, it’s not something that I often get to do outside during the school year. I also love to read, cook, and listen to music in my spare time.
What is your favorite LIMELIGHT project you have gotten to work on so far?
Working on projects for a law firm that is part of a pending Supreme Court case has been incredibly interesting because of how many different projects we are helping them with. I have also really enjoyed writing blog posts because it lets me focus on the more creative side of PR work.
